Germany’s domestic take on the Covid pandemic and recent extreme weather events seem to determine the early stages of the party’s election campaigns for Germany’s federal election in the end of September this year. The polls show, different varieties of the new federal government are still possible – nothing is decided yet.
However, one thing is clear: With Chancellor Angela Merkel leaving office this autumn and a new government in place, transatlantic relations are placed on a new footing.
This panel discussion will give insights into central domestic issues of Germany’s election year and discuss how possible government coalitions could approach transatlantic relations and common global challenges in the years to come.
Just before the German elections, we want to engage in a transatlantic dialogue with the following panelists:
