Background:

The project Digital Europe 2030: Data & Democracy is a strategic foresight process that addresses the role of data for the future of European democracies. Although the data economy is already showing tangible benefits for people and businesses that use a wide range of data services, the associated business models have a large and multifaceted impact on society and politics. In Digital Europe 2030: Data & Democracy, a group of experts will use the tools of strategic foresight to develop alternative future scenarios with the aim of discovering how data-based services can best be rendered useful for the democratic societies of Europe’s future.
