Kick-Off Workshop for the Understanding Europe Participatory Formats 2022

As part of the "Thinking of Europe" Fellowship, five young people from Romania, Portugal, Germany, Armenia and Austria will meet in Brussels this year for a kick-off workshop to develop participatory participation formats. The formats will be geared to the target group of their peers and aim to encourage students to participate creatively, activistically or within the framework of existing political participation processes (such as the European Citizens' Initiative).

To this end, from 30 March to 1 April, the five participants will meet stakeholders, decision-makers, artists, activists, and other stakeholders to discuss the issues at stake and sketch out initial ideas and starting points for the planning process of the formats and their implementation in the classroom.

The aim is to then develop a format to be implemented with a group of 15-30 students in their country, ideally before the summer holidays in 2022, but possibly also in autumn 2022.
